The idea of "The Chair" came from the interest in choreographing a solo about the evolution of man until the ever increasing necessity of acquisition brings about his own self-destruction.
The composition and method of work was influenced by oriental dance and theatre. It was highly influenced by "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawkins and "Beginnings" of Isaac Asimov.
The dancing body transforms itself through the different stages of evolution, until any further movement is impossible.
The creative process was, as all of Gabilondo's works, characterized by intensive research, improvisation and a detailed dramaturgy.
