The Guests

Choreography for 2 actors and 8 dancers
Length: 58 min.

© João Luiz

The inspiration for "The Guests" comes from research on table manners and etiquette in different cultures as well as in different periods of history.

One of the transcultural elements about the ritual of dinner is the analogy to the cycle of life and death which provides the dramaturgical direction of the piece.

Elements of myth and surrealistic aesthetics are interwoven with stylized versions of everyday situations from real life, giving the work a strong ironic and tragic-comic cast.
